Corps de Ballet Collection
The Corps de Ballet Collection is handcrafted in England, made up of traditional pointe shoes made inside out and turned to reveal the right side of the pointe shoe after the shoemaker has hand pasted the toe box into the shoe. These lightweight shoes are known and loved by dancers that want the shoe to mold quickly to their foot. From the stage, dancers appear to wear flat slippers when wearing shoes from this collection. Many artistic directors favor the aesthetic of Suffolk® pointe shoes made in this traditional British style of shoemaking. They are the only classic pointe shoes that feature Suffolk’s patented design which extends the life of the shoe.
SPOTLIGHT™
The Suffolk® Spotlight™ incorporates our patented design, which is unique in its ability to help all dancers get over the platform in correct placement, while the insole allows them to fully articulate their feet. This turn shoe with a medium vamp is specifically designed for a dancer with lower profile feet. This lightweight shoe is made on a last that hugs the arch, while offering the dancer support and lift. The Spotlight also deters sitting in the shoe.
STERLING®
The Suffolk® Sterling® is a lightweight turn shoe that combines Suffolk's patented design with traditional pointe shoe making. The last has a medium profile and suits dancers that prefer our medium vamps. This shoe has also proven to perform well for dancers that prefer compression from their shoes. The elegant line of the Sterling® allows for proper placement and aids in alignment.
The light weight shoes in this collection are made in the traditional turn shoe method. The toe box is stitched into the side of the sole, enabling flexibility at the back of the shoe. This stitching method also allows the dancer to articulate her foot completely. Pointe shoes in this collection feature the strong and stable Suffolk platform. Corps de Ballet shoes are the first choice of professional dancers worldwide.
FAQs
Key Benefits
- Allows the dancer to roll through demi pointe and easily point their foot
- Allows the dancer to show off their foot because the shoe molds beautifully and follows the arch
- Broad platform assists in balance
- Insole allows maximum contact with floor
- Insole reduces in thickness at the point where the arch breaks and is glued and tacked up to this place. The remainder of the insole to the heel is not glued or tacked which gives the benefit of ¾ shoe but the strength of a full insole.
